To order

A story is told of a man who, as he was passing through a village, he noticed how elephants were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. It was pretty obvious that the elephants could, at any moment, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He got curious and asked the villagers how it was possible to keep such huge animals tied and yet they made no attempt to get away. “Well,” the villagers said, “when these elephants are very young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. But as they grow up, they are accustomed to believe they cannot break away and hence they just stand there without making any attempt to flee.” The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Unfortunately,as unbelievable as it seems many of us are stuck in situations that look like there is no way out,but what is keeping us there is our past experiences and beliefs that have no power over our present reality .
